Tigercub - Concorde 2 - 19th January 2018 Tigercub – Concorde 2 – 19th January 2018 It would be interesting to see how many of Brighton’s venues Tigercub have graced, because it must be the majority of them by this point. Whether headline shows, as the support act, or festival performances, Tigercub have become a live staple in our great city and, for a very long time, they were Brighton’s secret. As frontman Jamie Hall puts it,"We've come further in nine months than we did in six years". Now, after the release of a terrific album and EP in the last two years, they’re ready to take on the world, but not before a very special hometown Concorde 2 show, which was every bit as sweaty, terrific and euphoric as you would expect. As most of Concorde 2’s audience knew, Tigercub are an almost unbeatable live...

  • Tigercub - Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar - 18th May 2016

Tigercub - Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar - 18th May 2016 Tigercub - Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar - 18th May 2016 Sold out. These were the two words that have been ringing around the Facebook event for Acid Box’s jammed line-up for the last month, acting as a pre-cursor for things to come over the Great Escape weekend. If this was anything to give us an artist’s impression of what we can expect then boy, it’s set to be a storming weekend. Acid Box’s DIY approach to the night gave it an underlying charm that is scarcely found within the forefront of music scenes, costing just £1 made the evening’s entertainment all the more endearing.
  • Tigercub – Bleach – 7th August 2015

Tigercub – Bleach – 7th August 2015 Tigercub – Bleach – 7th August 2015 Bleach is, without a shadow of a doubt, the hottest venue in Brighton. When at full capacity in the middle of summer like it was last Friday night, it’s easy to break into a sweat standing completely stationary. The gallons of perspiration that must be being produced collectively by both the bands and the audience create a dank and humid atmosphere. Something only heightened by the doom-laden riffs and a murky over-driven bass tone that makes up the sound of headliners Tigercub.
  • The Great Escape - 2015

The Great Escape - 2015 The Great Escape - 2015 Jeff Hemmings Well, that was something else, wasn't it? As a colleague from local radio station Juice FM put it: 'That was the best three days! I didn't want it to stop!' I'll wager that a great many others, both industry people and punters, shared that sentiment when they staggered out of the last venue, bar, or hostelry, for the last time.
  • Tigercub - Interview - 2015

Tigercub - Interview - 2015 Tigercub - Interview - 2015 Renowned for their fierce live show, Tigercub are the band you want to see if you’re looking for a mental half hour of headbanging and smashing into one another. They have already gathered a strong local following with outstanding performances, and it seems like rest of the country are now starting to realise what the buzz is all about – following supporting tours with Blood Red Shoes and Royal Blood as well as their own recent headline tour. Having released songs like ‘Centrefold’ and ‘Hold On’, there is no doubt that Tigercub are close to breaking through. I had a quick drink with lead singer and guitarist Jamie to find out more about the band.
  • Drill Festival Brighton - 2014 - Part 1

Drill Festival Brighton 2014 Drill Festival - 2014 - Part 1 The first act I wanted to see was BitBinat the Sallis Benny Theatre. How the first act on could be 15 minutes late with his equipment all ready to go is beyond me. I took it as fate telling me to see Scarlet Rascal instead who were playing at the Green Door Store, and they were brilliant. The 4-piece Bristol band created an intense, dark atmosphere helped by the dull shadowed lighting put on them. Think Joy Division mixed with The Horrors, and Lou Reed vocals. If you are into your bass driven post-punk, these are ones to watch as they put on a mighty strong performance. Keep an eye out for their debut album on INVADA Records, set for release early 2015.
